Lake
Ellidavatn is located within the boundaries of the capital
Reykjavik. Its surface lies about 74 m above sea level and it has an area of 1,
8 kmē.
The lake supports both brown trout and arctic char, usually in size
range from 0,5-1 kg. Several brown trout in size range
from 1,5-3,5 kg are caught every season and late summer few salmon
as well.
Lake Ellidavatn is very productive as well as being
fertile and the char is well known for being
selective.
The prime time for lake Ellidavatn runs from the beginning of May
until the end of June.
Its discharge is the 5 km long
Ellidaar River, which runs trough the capital and frequently
among the ten best salmon rivers of the country.

15th
