Salmon river
Brynjudalsa
The Brynjudalsa is a charming little river
located only 45.km west of Reykjavík which makes it easy for a
quick peek. Despite the closeness to the city the surroundings
are remote as well as scenic. The river has a good stock of
salmon and anglers have the added bonus of having the salmon
close by and usually in full view.
Numerous and varied fishing sites characterize this river and
many are great for fly fishing. The river is formed by
tributaries, but also influenced by springs. The river is fished
with maximum two daily rods at a time.
The total catch 2011 was approx. 300 salmon.
There is no lodge at the river. If an overnight stay is
preferred arrangements can be made at local guesthouses.
