Salmon river
Brynjudalsa
River
Brynjudalsa is small, but productive river, approx 11 km in length and fished with two rods
at a time. The river
has a good stock of salmon and anglers have the added bonus of
having the fish close by and usually in full view, which
requires
stealthy
approach, so as not to spook them.
The
fishing is mostly concentrated on the lower areas of the river.
One of the best spots is the pool directly below the first
waterfall located near the estuary. This pool often holds a lot
of fish from mid-July onwards. There are also several spots
between this pool and the sea that produces fish at the right
phase of the tide.
The total catch 2009
was approx 260 salmon
