Lake
Hlidarvatn is located 60 km south of Reykjavik.
The lake has an area of approx 4 kmē and the greatest depth is 5
meters.
The lake supports strong stock of arctic char. Anglers can also
expect struggling with sea trout as well as occasional brown
trout.
Fly fishing has been the most successful way for decades but
spinning is also allowed.
There is a fishing lodge by the lake, with self catering
facilities.
Included in the price for each permit.
The way from Reykjavik is scenic with some
remarkable stopovers by hot springs as well as by the rough and
barren sea shore.
